Message to the Media

Thank you for your interest in the Illusion Museum.

In covering the museum in the press, television, or other media, we would ask that when you feature or make reference to our research or any of the exhibits, you clearly identify the names of the researchers who undertook the research.

Where it is not possible to identify the researchers, please refrain from referring to the research in the body of the article, featuring images of the research, or broadcasting any associated coverage.

These requests have in the past been made orally. Unfortunately, even where pledges to follow these requests have been received, from time to time the pledges have not been abided by. The relevant media has then had to publish an apology, causing mutually unnecessary loss of time and effort. As we are keen to avoid such situations, our position is herein stated in writing.

Should you wish to do a story, please complete and submit an Agreement for Media Coverage of the Illusion Museum. The museum will only cooperate in media coverage for which an agreement has been lodged and accepted.

Respecting the name of a researcher when reporting on research, and on works that are the deliverables of that research, should be a matter of course for the media, and while we recognize that making a specific request in this manner may be discourteous, we trust you understand our reasons.
